Washington SUN Bucks Summer EBT Program

Beginning this summer, the state of Washington will launch a new Summer EBT program called SUN Bucks. The program will provide families with $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy food when school is out.

ELIGIBILITY
Some children will automatically be eligible for SUN Bucks, while others will need to apply. Students may be automatically eligible if they:
  • Are enrolled at a school that offers the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program and qualifies through a Free and Reduced Price Meal application or Family Income Survey; or
  • Are age 8-18 and are a member of a household already receiving assistance program benefits (SNAP, TANF, FDPIR).

Students who do not qualify automatically can apply by contacting the SUN Bucks Contact Center at 1-833-543-3230 (TTY: 1-800-833-6348) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday - Friday (except observed holidays).

SUN Bucks will be issued beginning mid-June through the end of August 2024. Once qualified, families will receive an approval notice and SUN Bucks EBT card within 7 to 10 business days via U.S. Mail.
